On Sunday, October 8th, UAW members in Detroit will hold a rally featuring supplemental employees from Stellantis’ Jefferson North Assembly Plant, the Detroit Assembly Complex–Mack and other Metro Detroit Big Three plants. Supplemental Employees, also known as SEs or TPTs (temporary part-time employees), make as little as $15.78 an hour at Stellantis. Though they often work more than 40 hours a week, many supplemental employees must wait five years or more before becoming full-time employees.

WHAT:    UAW Supplemental Employees Matter Rally
WHERE:  Manz Baseball Field, At the corner of Conner St. & Mack Ave., Detroit
WHEN:   Sunday, October 8, 1pm CT

As the Stand Up Strike enters its fourth week – and the weekend after UAW President Fain announced historic progress in bargaining with the Big Three – the UAW is holding two rallies in support of striking UAW members across 41 Big Three facilities in 21 states.

On Facebook Live on Friday, Fain announced that General Motors will include electric vehicle battery production work in the UAW’s national master agreement with the company. GM’s commitment is a historic step forward, guaranteeing that the transition to electric vehicles at GM will be a just transition that brings good union jobs to communities across America.

Despite this historic breakthrough, many issues remain to be resolved with GM, Ford and Stellantis. The Big Three made $21 billion in total profits in just the first six months of 2023 and can easily afford to meet all of the UAW’s demands.
