TODAY, 5PM EST: With Big Three Contracts Expiring Thursday Night, UAW President Shawn Fain Holding Facebook Live to Update Members on Bargaining and Lay Out Strike Strategy

DETROIT – UAW President Shawn Fain will hold a Facebook Live TODAY at 5:00 p.m. EST to update members on Big Three bargaining and lay out the union’s strike strategy.

Fain will discuss the latest counterproposals from Ford, General Motors and Stellantis. The UAW gave the Big Three its core economic demands, the Members’ Demands, in mid-July. All three companies took more than a month to respond with their economic counterproposals. 

Collectively, Ford, General Motors and Stellantis made $250 billion in North American profits from 2013 to 2022. In just the first six months of 2023, they raked in $21 billion in total profits.

The UAW recently raised strike pay to $500 per week per member and has over $825 million in the union strike fund. The union’s contracts with the Big Three automakers expire on Sept. 14 at 11:59 p.m.
