Croesawu chwe siaradwr Cymraeg newydd yn ein Canolfan Rheoli Integredig

07 Dec 2022

We are delighted to recruit six new Welsh-speaking colleagues to our Integrated Control Centre (ICC).

Our bilingual new starters will answer any help point calls, emergency calls in our lifts, and the help points available in the toilet facilities currently being installed along our Core Valley Lines (CVL).

The team will also support us in translating our operational messaging to make sure the Welsh displays on our trains and stations are accurate.

In addition to our customer help points, the control team at the Wales Rail Operating Centre (WROC) also identified the opportunity to improve the technology used at the centre for mainline services. Our on-hand customer support, combined with our technological upgrades, will now enable us to provide 24/7 support to both our English and Welsh-speaking customers. These roles are the very first operational roles with Welsh language skills listed as essentials criteria, which we hope to advertise more of soon.

Hear from our wonderful new colleagues:

Supporting Welsh culture in Wales is a priority of ours, so it’s important our services and activities promote and facilitate the use of the Welsh language and culture across the whole of Wales.
